"Many people have probably seen Hayao Miyazaki’s animated movie Nausicaä of the Valley of the Wind.
If you liked the movie, I really recommend reading the original manga too!
That’s because the manga and the movie show very different sides of the story.
The movie was made for a wide audience, so the story is much simpler and easier to watch. Nausicaä is the main character, and she becomes a hero who saves many people. The movie ends with her as a kind of savior.
But the manga shows a much darker and more complicated side of humanity. It deals more deeply with countries, war, and the struggle to survive. You can see the ugly and difficult sides of people much more clearly.
Maybe that’s why, even in Japan, some people love the movie but don’t like the manga as much.
That’s exactly why I hope you’ll give the manga a try. I love both the movie and the manga."
